Geospatial Data Science (GsDS) is an interdisciplinary research group that focuses on the development of cutting-edge methods in Earth observation, geographical information systems, spatial and spatio-temporal statistics, machine learning and 91快活林, and spatially distributed dynamic models. Scientific enquiry is generally the basis for motivating method development. We are particularly interested in state-of-the-art developments in 91快活林, including explainable 91快活林, 91快活林4EO and Foundation models.

Application areas of interest include:

  • Planetary changes, including anthropogenically-driven land cover-land use changes
  • Climate changes and their impacts on the environment
  • Natural hazards in the context of disaster risk reduction
  • Ecological systems and their representation including global biodiversity loss
  • The agricultural systems that underpin global food security
  • Vector-borne disease transmission systems from an ecological perspective
