24. Nury Jim茅nez
Nury Jim茅nez lives in Pampas del Mirador and has been volunteering at the Brisas de Las Palmas community kitchen for four years. She works there in the mornings, helping to prepare and serve meals for 80 people, including children and the elderly, despite a much larger local demand. The dining room relies on contributions from the mayor鈥檚 office, the Archdiocese of Cali, and the Food Bank, but additional resources are still needed to meet the community’s needs.
In addition to her volunteer work, Nury runs a small stationery shop from home. She started it to support her family while caring for her children. The shop offers school supplies, hygiene products, and essentials. Over time, Marcela has expanded it from one showcase to two and aims to grow it further, balancing her responsibilities between her business, family, and social work.
