My current research is grounded in the framework of Markov Decision Processes (MDPs), which encapsulates a wide range of sequential decision-making problems under uncertainty. Specifically, we apply the MDP framework to the problem of maintaining systems with redundant components. Additionally, I&#8217;m interested in integrating such problems into the initial design of a system, so that strategic (one-off) decisions can be optimized alongside operational (day-to-day, sequential, stochastic) decisions.
