Summer Term at Sport Lancaster

With just a few weeks left of the summer term and the weather looking up, now is the perfect time to get moving and try something new. Sport Lancaster has a wide range of activities and schemes available until the end of term, including some free options to help you make the most of the on-campus facilities without spending a penny.

Social Climbing Sessions

Fancy a bit of a challenge? Social Climbing sessions will be running throughout the week until the end of term, giving you the chance to use the climbing facilities at an affordable rate, with our friendly and supportive instructors on hand to coach you, or to be your belay partner. These sessions are a great way to meet like-minded people, or to get a casual and community-focused introduction to the sport, with no equipment needed.

These sessions are included in our Rock and Racket membership package, and will cost ?3.50 for non-members and members on all other membership plans. There is no need to book onto the sessions or bring any equipment- just turn up and climb!

Wednesday 11am – 1pm

Fridays 6pm - 9pm

Free activities on campus

Sport Lancaster run a multitude of free classes, conveniently located on campus, including weekly Stretch and Mobility and Functional Fitness classes, designed to teach you some basic skills in a relaxed environment.

If you’re looking for a low-pressure way to meet new people, get your steps in and take a break from your desk, the weeklyWoodland Wellbeing Walk is a great option, setting off from University House every Monday at 12:15pm.

Finally, why not try using our , located opposite the Sports Centre, to get your body moving and feel the benefits of fresh air without spending a penny!

Classes

An exercise class can be a fun way to try something new and socialise, with a long list of physical and mental health benefits from just 30 minutes to an hour of exercise. Sport Lancaster’s timetable has something for everyone, from Hyrox and Spin classes to more relaxed pilates and yoga sessions. To see what’s available and to book your place,

Short-term membership options

If you want to see what Sport Lancaster has to offer, their new Stress Less membership allows you to access the facilities for 8 weeks, with no further commitment necessary. Designed to give you an outlet to reap the mental and physical benefits of exercise during what is, for many people, a very busy and potentially stressful time of year, the membership is only available to purchase until 1 June 2026.
