What are co-options?
A co-option is when a position on the JCR Exec remains unfilled and can be passed by a simple majority vote of the existing JCR Exec until the next election or bye-election occurs.

? Men’s+ & Women’s+ Sports Officers (x2)
Furness has dominated Patriots for five years running — and we want to keep that trophy where it belongs. As a Sports Officer, you’ll:
- Support Furness teams throughout the year
- Represent the college at LUSU & JCR meetings
- Help run sporting events like pool & football tournaments, Memorial Day, and Patriots
- Work with Media & Comms to promote fixtures and results
- Team up with the co-Sports Officer to keep Furness sport thriving
If you love sport, teamwork, and college pride, this role is for you.
? Media & Comms Officers (x2)
If you’re creative, organised, or just love making things look good, this is the role for you.
You’ll:
- Create posts and stories for the Furness Instagram page
- Create weekly event schedules
- Make fun, engaging content
- Take minutes at JCR meetings
- Work with the whole Exec to share updates
It’s a great chance to build a portfolio, learn new skills, and shape the voice of Furness.
